Estive pesquisando um pouco e verifiquei que o Beryl não funciona em algumas placas ATI, entre elas X1300, que é a minha, segundo algumas pessoas falta integrar algumas funcionalidades no drive Linux para esta placa.
Para isto entre no site da ati (http://www.ati.com) e faça uma reclação solicitando a correção do drive.
Eu já fiz a minha reclamação.
